Since the story is many years old, there might be some spelling-, grammar- and continuity errors.
So, I am sorry that the quality here feel a bit worse, compared to the other stories I've uploaded here.

“Cling! Clang! Clash!”
The sound of the swords was audible in the training court when they clashed against each other.
Arissa stood in front of her trainer and tried her best to fend off the attacks.
Her forehead was sweaty and she felt getting hot, but it didn’t bothered her. She had to win!
Between the clashes she noticed that the trainer makes a mistake. Now is her chance!
She strikes at him and almost slashed the sword out of his hand. The man fell and Arissa pointed her sword at his chest.
She stood there for a while, then she withdraw her sword with a smile and she took her hand out to her trainer.
‘How well did I today?’ She said while catching breath.
‘Fantastic, you are almost better than I am!’ The trainer grabbed her hand and got helped up.
‘Are we going to practice next day again?’ Arissa asked.
‘I am afraid not.’ The trainer felt his arm. ‘I think I strained my muscle, we might have trained enough so far.’
‘Nice job, sissy!’ Arissa looked behind her. She noticed her twin sister Sarisa sitting down on a rock. Her legs were crossed and she applauding enthusiastically.
‘Thank you Saris.’ Arissa smiled. It felt nice to see how sister always encouraged her. But most of the time there was a reason why she visited her training sessions, what would it be this time?
‘Are you going to refresh yourself soon? We have to go and visit the King very soon.’ Sarisa jumped of the rock. ‘We have a quest to fulfill for him.’
‘Ai, then it must be important!’ Arissa quickly walked up to Sarisa. ‘The King sure didn’t asked us for nothing.’
‘Good luck Arissa. I will clear out the court on my own.’ The trainer started to pick up the stuff, he clamped his teeth together when he felt the pain in his arm.
‘What’s taking her so long?’ Murmured Arissa in herself.
After the training, she took a bath and put on a long, orange dress.
She hated it, everybody thinks she looked beautiful in that thing, except herself. She was more the though-looking girl, wearing the long hard-pink coat and tomboyish pants, who is ready to take on the evil.
Sarisa was more on the beauty side. When she was taking a bath, she always wanted a nice smelling oil poured in the water, instead of soap. There must also be someone who wanted to take care of her pretty looking black hair and her make-up.
Finally, Sarisa arived. Arissa eyes grew wide when she saw what her sister wears.
‘You are going to wear this?!’ She shouted in full disbelieve.
‘Why not? I always feel nice when I wear these clothes.’ Sarisa wears a long skirt with a split, which shows her left leg and a corset that hardly covered her cleavage.
Arissa sighed. ‘Forget it, there is no time to properly dress yourself. We will be called in any moment now. Please don’t act sassy, okay?’
‘If I had the time to redress, I would refuse.’ Sarisa crossed her arms. ‘People had to take me as I am.’
Arissa rolled with her eyes, why must her sister act so stubborn sometimes?
The door opened and a man came out of the room.
‘The Mageline Sisters? Your presence has been requested by the king.’
The ladies did what the man said and go after him.
Arissa tried to do her best to walk as courteous as possible, it wasn’t easy for her with those shoes with high-heels.
Sarisa walked next to her and didn’t even try to walk normally, she purposely walked seductive and ignore all those disproving faces of the others.
‘Come on, walk normally! Stop attracting the other men in the room!’ Arissa whispered towards her sister.
‘That’s their problem. Everybody is being so uptight.’ While shrugging her shoulders Sarisa walked further.
The went up to the throne and kneel down in front of the King and Queen of Milerba. The mighty Lord looked disapprovingly at Sarisa’s choice of clothing and cleared his throat before he spoke.
‘Our dear Mageline Sisters, I requested both of you to visit our throne.’ He said to the ladies. ‘This morning, I had received a letter from the messenger from the city of Albranca. The messenger came in with serious injuries, but the letter has came in safely. The letter is from the king of this city, he wrote me that a few weeks ago that his city got attacked by slime monsters and the citizens were forced to leave their homes.
The situation is critical, the soldiers can’t fight back against the large number of slimes, and the entry to the weapons storage is blocked.
Your quest is drive out those monsters of the city and make it livable again. Make sure that the soldiers can access their weapons so they can help you.’
‘Your Majesty, when are we allowed to travel to Albranca?’ Asked Arissa polite. ‘We understand that this situation is serious, so we want to make sure that we will go fully prepared.’
‘As soon as possible.’ The King answered. ‘Make sure we don’t lose too much time before the city go swallowed by the slimes.’
‘With all my respect, but how are we able to defeat a horde of slimes, while a army can’t even stand a chance?’ Sarisa sounded uninterested. Arissa looked angrily at her, the Kind and Queen can’t appreciate her comment.
‘You are smart enough to solve this problem and your sister can help you with it!’ The King answered blunt. Arissa flinched when the King shouted at her sister, why must she act this way to the mighty Lord.
‘We will do our best to fulfill your quest successfully, sire.’ Arissa answered calm as possible. She looked up to him and noticed how the face of the mighty old man calmed down again.
‘I have all the confidence for it. Well, our servants will bring you the gear that you will need for this quest. Leave now, and make sure you will arrive in Albranca as soon as possible.’
‘Thank you, Your Majesty. We will leave now.’ Arissa and Sarisa stood up and bow deeply for the King, then they left the throne room and walked up the hallway.
‘Was this really necessary?!’ Arissa walked angrily at her sister after they put their normal clothes on and received their weapons. ‘We might received more reinforcement if you just shut your mouth!’
‘Oh, you really thought that just two of us will take on the big problem?’ Sarisa crossed her arms in front of her. ‘That old man is just become more senile by asking just two of us, instead of relying on his army.’
‘Yes...I mean...no! I mean...do you want to be beheaded?’ Arissa asked confused. Her sister did have point though, why did the King put his trust on them?
‘This beautiful looking head will stay on my gorgeous body, don’t you worry.’ Sarisa shakes her head. ‘I just don’t like all those courtesy, you know?’
‘You know, forget about it. Let just focus on how far we will get.’ Arissa sighed. She took the map out of her bag and looked at it, together with her sister.
‘If we want to travel fast enough, we must go through the Lynwirr-woods. It is a dense forest and we will travel in a day to get to the town of Lynwirr, with the monsters and bandits that wait for us. But after we made it, we will arrive in Albranca the next day.’
‘Are there handsome looking men in Albranca?’ Sarisa giggled. ‘I am not into those town guys.’
‘That is totally not important.’ Arissa sighed. ‘What has priority is to ask and find information about the slime problem. Let’s go, the woods can be very dark quickly.’
She rolled the map and put it back into her bag. The girls exited the castle and left the city.
After the walked under the gate the noticed that a little girl went after her.
‘Arissa, wait for me!’ Lotte ran at her. The ladies stopped and turned around, they let the little mage catch her breath.
‘Hi Lotte, what is it? Do you want to travel with us?’ Arissa asked.
‘I always wanted to go with you, and now you are leaving without me!’ Lotte seemed upset. Arissa felt guilty, this quest was given by the King, for the two ladies alone. He would never forgive her if something terrible will happen to a child on the battlefield.
‘But dear Lotte, don’t you want to stay at home safely? It can be very dangerous to where we are going.’ Attempted Arissa to send her back.
‘I know about that already and I am surely not afraid at all!’ Lotte put her arms proudly at her sides.
‘But, don’t you had to practice more with your healing spells first?’ Asked Sarisa kindly as possible.
‘Practicing more? I just lately healed you from a poisonous wound when you got bitten by a giant snake!’ Lotte crossed her arms in front of her chest and seems insulted.
Arissa decided to tell her the truth. ‘Listen Lotte, you can not go with us from the King’s order, he hasn’t asked you to fulfill our quest. It is important that you have to wait, until you are ready to go on a long adventure with us.
You know, sometimes we are traveling all together, with Alphonse and mama.’
‘But why don’t we ask mommy to go with us? Then I can travel with you!’ Lotte doesn’t want to give up, she really tried her best to go on a adventure as well.
‘Speaking of which...’ Sarisa whispered.
She was right, outside of the city walked Porom up to them. She seemed very angry that her daughter was going outside without her permission.
‘There you are, why are you leaving the house and going after Arissa and her sister?!’ She asked strictly to the little girl.
‘Because they go on a adventure without asking me, that’s why!’ Lotte answered rebellious.
‘Lotte, you can’t just leave the house, and you don’t have to lie about it.’ Porom talked more calm but still strict. ‘You made mama very worried, understand that?’
‘Yes mum.’ Lotte sees that discussing further has no more effect and gave up.
‘But we usually go together on a adventure with Alphonse, that’s also nice?’ Porom asked kindly to her daughter.
‘Yeah, but Arissa is way cooler...’ Muttered Lotte, she crossed her arms and looked sour.
Porom looked at the two other ladies and shrugged her shoulders. ‘I am sorry that we are halting you.’
‘Ah, don’t worry about it. I understand how much Lotte has helped us before, but we really have to solve it with two of us.’ Arissa quickly added.
‘We are way stronger with three of us...’ Muttered Lotte while walking back.
‘I am sorry Lotte, really!’
With regression looked Arissa and Sarisa how Porom and Lotte went back into the city.
‘Come on, let’s really go into the woods. Then we will arrive in time for sure.’ Arissa took the lead and go forward, her sister following her.
It was already dark when the reached the end of the woods. The got held up on the way by monsters and bandits that lived there.
Luckily the ladies stood ground and even found some gold pieces and other loot and they can use for later.
In the beginning Sarisa seems confident enough to enter the woods, but when the night falls she started to get more nervous. The road was getting more hard to see and they had to be careful that they won’t wander off it.
‘Aris? Are you sure we are almost at reaching the town?’ Sarisa asked with a shaking voice. ‘The monsters are getting more creepy now it is dark.’
‘Oh, don’t be afraid. I am here to protect you, little sis.’ Arissa laughed, but Sarisa couldn’t appreciate her comment.
‘No seriously, I don’t like it! I really want to get out of here!’
‘Calm down, look the trees are don’t grow here and I see houses in the distance.’ Arissa pointed in the distance where little lights are shining.
Sarisa sighed relieved, they walked further.
The girls followed the path that lead to the village, and Sarisa’s fear seems to be gone. Arissa saw in the dark a big twig laying around and decided to pull a little prank.
She let her sister walk a little bit further away from her and walked off the road. She put her foot on the twig and cracked it with a loud noise.
With a scream grabbed Sarisa her whip. Arissa restrained her laugh when she saw her sis looking around her and noticing that her sister wasn’t there.
‘Let my sister go, or else!’ Sarisa yelled. She was shaking on her legs and tried to look around for her enemies.
Arissa decided it was enough and walked towards her laughing.
‘Idiot! I was really scared, you know?!’ Sarisa noticed that she felt for this prank and her face turned red of embarrassment.
‘I am sorry, but I just can’t help it.’ Arissa laughed with tears in her eyes.
Angry walked Sarisa further. ‘Enough, we have wasted too much time! The city can’t wait for us forever!’
‘Let get something to eat, drink and rent a room.’ Arissa was searching for an inn. The town was dark and silent, and the ladies had a hard time to find their way around.
After searching for a while, they found the inn and went inside. They rented a room for tonight and arranged for food and drinks.
After everything was done, they took place at a table, and waited for the food.
It was pleasantly warm in the dining room, and a soft sound of lute music was being played. The atmosphere was very cozy.
‘Aaah...I’m gonna rest for a bit.’ Sarisa stretched her arms. Arissa felt the deserved a rest as well, it was a long journey.
She didn’t felt like she want to come up with a plan right now, but she had to come up with something! Next day she had to solve the problem.
The sisters both ordered a piece of roasted lamb and enjoyed the food and drinks. Between the bites Arissa thought about a plan.
She noticed that two men came inside, they were quite noise and seem to be in a great mood.
‘Well Darcius, this is the perfect place to enjoy a good beer! I think we deserved it!’
‘I totally agree, Martino. Let’s have a good time!’ He and his mate walked towards the bar and ordered two mugs of beer. Arissa noticed that they paid with large sized gold pieces.
There was something on them didn’t felt right to her, but she can’t explained it what it was. She decided to not give attention to them and tried to eat further.
The night advanced and the men drank more and more, and started to talk louder. The music that played softly first, tried now its best to overwhelm the loud words of the two drunken guys.
Arissa caught some samples of the conversation they had.
‘Oh boy….beer is so delicious...aven’t thought that…very expensive...’
‘...ood we asked that blob of slime tha… Those guys are too good willing to... Otherwise we...’
With a shock sat Arissa straight on her chair. What do these guys know that she didn’t?
‘What is it sissy? You look all of the sudden so pale...’ Sarisa looked at her a bit in shock.
Arissa pressed her finger on her lips and pointed unnoticeable towards the two loud, muttering men.
‘Are you sure that they are?...’
‘Yes, I am! They just spout some info without they noticed! They were lucky that it so crowded here, otherwise they will be caught hands down.
With a loud smash the guys put the mug back on the bar and are tempting to leave the inn.
‘Well, to be next time...if we have the money though.’ Said one of them, roaming they tried to find the exit.
‘What do you think, sis? Shall I go after them?’ Sarisa rose up from her seat and looked in the direction of the exit.
‘I will make sure that I won’t lose you.’ Arissa smiled, the ladies had a connection point, in the middle of the night.
Her sister walked towards the exit. Arissa waited for a few minutes, then stood up as well and lay down a few golden coins on the bar.
She then exited the inn as well.
‘Hi sweetie, what are you doing here in the late night? In this stink hole?’ Arissa saw how the bandits talked towards her sister.
‘Oh, I just stay here. I just wanted to get a beer in the pub.’ Sarisa talked with her best sultry voice that made every men’s heart go crazy. ‘You want to go with me?’
‘I...I’m sssorry. We just drank all the beer of this town.’ The bandit called Darcius laughed dumb at his own joke. ‘That poor fool didn’t brew enough beer to ssserve it for the townssspeople.’
‘Oh, that’s sad. I just was looking forward to get beer.’ Sarisa pouted, the men seem to felt sorry and start thinking for a solution.
‘Eh...you want to come with us? We have hired a home where we will reside until we are done with our job. ‘Martino invited Arisa.
‘Are you sure? I mean, I not go with everybody to their homes.’ Arisa playfully put her hand to her hip.
‘Oh, we have beer and wine. The best wine of this region.’ The creep tried her best. ‘Better than you can get in every pub!’
‘That’s sounds fine by me, I am in.’ Sarisa looked sultry and together with the wandering guys they began to walk. Arissa kept following her from a distance.
She noticed how the men walked to a door of a house, which had trouble of opening it. Arissa walked around of the house and saw a windows that was already opened. She was lucky!
Arissa pressed her body to the wall and she heard how her sister entered the home together with the drunken bandits.
‘What’s your name, pretty? I didn’t asked yours by the way.’
‘Angelina. Angelina Glorine.’ Sarisa lied shamelessly. ‘I work at a blacksmith to attach the horseshoes for the horses of the army. I will travel over the whole country and visit all the owners to make sure that the horses get their new shoes.’
That was tricky! Sarisa had no knowledge of horses or blacksmiths. She really didn’t like the job was more interested in how people turn simple pieces of clothing into a beautiful dress.
The bandits are apparently too drunk to look through the lie, because it seems they feel for it immediately.
‘Are you also doing horseshoes for kings or queens?’ Asked Martino while looking hazy.
‘Yes, of course! Next morning I have to visit the king of Albranca, to prepare him for a battle that is coming up very soon.’
With a shock the men stared at her. ‘Are you...going to Albranca? B...b...but that isss...dangerous!’
‘Why is it dangerous? It is a beautiful city so far as I know.’ Sarisa shrugged her shoulders.
‘Well...now it is not. You see...’ started Martino his confession. ‘The city is now covered in slime. It is because of the slime monsters that moved into that place. They didn’t attack on their own, it is because we ordered them to take over the city and force everyone out of there.
Since our plans succeeded we received a good payment from our boss and it is enough to celebrate for a whole week.
If you want to join the party, we can drink the whole night until we are too drunk to stand up again.’
So that’s whats going on! It wasn’t the fault of the slimes to attack the city, but from someone else that ordered these two bandits to commit this horrendous crime!
Enough was enough! Arissa placed her hands on the window-sill and carefully starts climbing inside.
‘Do you find yourself smart?’Asked Sarisa playful, she noticed the hands of her sister. It was time to strike.
‘We are very clever! To attack a city with slimes, is not something you do every day.’ The bandits seems very proud of their selves.
‘Well...I find it not so smart...to confess everything to me!’ With an evil smile grabbed Sarisa her whip and slashed it to the ground.
Arissa climbed into the room and grabbed her sword.
The bandits turned pale and seem to not knew what they should do next.
‘Don’t try anything or I will stab you! Except if you want to cooperate with us.’ Arissa pointed her sword at the chests of the two men. ‘You both have been caught red handed, drop your weapons and sit down on these chairs!’
The bandits started to shake and slowly putted their daggers on the ground. Slowly they sat down in their chair, being afraid of the angry lady that came in their house uninvited.
‘Angelina, what kind of trick is this?’ Asked Martino shaking.
‘Just an interrogation, loser.’ Sarisa shakes her head. ‘By the way, my name is nót Angelina.’
‘So guys, you are the ones that forced thousands of innocent people out of their homes, right?’ Arissa looked with an evil smile to the two bandits that seem to sat defeated in their chairs.
‘Yes, you caught me, and that’s all you got to know.’ Darcius crossed his arms and looked at the side of the room.
‘Oh, but that is not a smart move. Especially when I heard that you got a huge amount of gold pieces from your boss, who ever it is. It wasn’t for nothing, or is it?’
‘That doesn’t concern you!’
“WHACK!” Sarisa loudly smacked her whip in front of Darcius, he quickly blinked with his eyes.
‘Answer the question of my sis.’ She asked monotone.
‘Why should I? You are too late, the city is unlivable because of the slime.’ A little cold smile appeared on the bandits face.
“PHAM! CLACK! WHACK!” Sarisa smacked a few times in front of the two guys, at every smack that followed the man flinched more and more.
‘Enough! Quit hitting my friend!’ Martino yelled suddenly. Sarisa stopped and looked at the frighted guy. ‘I will talk, but please don’t kill him!’
‘Well, take took a long time.’ Arissa said with a playful smile. ‘Tell me, what do you know about the slime monsters, the money and most important, your boss?’
‘Well then...’ Martino catches breath and felt the presence of the two girl getting more on his nerves. His friend that was trying his best to not spout info, looked at him with fury. Everything about their plan seem to fall apart.
‘The slime that has covered the city is not staying there forever, but it will go away once the Slimeking gives his orders to his servants to leave the city. The king of Albranca has a secret vault somewhere where he kept his remaining gold to still manage to rebuild a new smaller city somewhere else. But the Slime King want that remaining money as a ransom so he can leave, being more richer than he was before.
That’s what the chief ordered us to tell to the slime folks, he wanted to take revenge on Albranca that way.’
‘Interesting. So, what is the name of your chief?’ Arissa looked doubtful, she slowly get more clue’s of this situation.
‘I...I don’t know.’ the man stuttered.
‘Oh come on, you have spoken to him and he gave you guys the orders. How can you not know his name? What does he look like?’
‘I have no idea.’
‘Oh yes you do!’ Arissa shouted to him.
‘Aah...okay, okay! I know at least a bit about him, but not what is real name is or how he looks.’ The man flinched. ‘No one of our clan knows his name, no one! We call him “The Bleak”. Every time we see him, he always wears a dark gray cloak over his chain mail and his clothing.
He always wears a helmet, where his entire face, besides his eyes, is covered. Like a mask. Part of his skin is looking pale, almost gray, and his eyes are almost black. Black like the night. That’s why we call him The Bleak, because he seems to have no color what so ever.
So far as we know, The Bleak served years ago in the King’s army, but he disagreed with the orders that the King gave to them. Slowly but surely, he started to make plans to turn a part of the army against him.
Sadly, his plans of riot against the King failed, and he got banished out of the city, where he and many men of his own “army” had to leave the city.’
‘Thanks a bunch for this info. We will look for him after we solved the problem in Albranca.’ Arissa happily nodded. That was all she needed.
‘No, do not try to challenge The Bleak!’ Martino rose up from his seat. ‘He will stop at nothing! He seem to know what other people will do against him, and do his best to stop you. He seem to have a ability to let people vanish when it’s night. It will be a matter of time if we get killed and disappear since we failed him.’
‘Well, I am not afraid of him! For tonight I will spare both of you.’ Arissa put her sword back to her sheath. ‘Feel free to escape as best as possible, but...if one of you guys commit another crime again, I will not go easy on you then!’
‘Well sissy, shall we exit this house? As you normally do?’ Sarisa asked repentant.
‘Sounds like a good plan, Saris. Goodnight guys.’
The ladies left the home of the two bandits, the door wasn’t even closed or they heard from the room, ‘Traitor!’
The next day the girls were out on their way, early this morning. They have slept very well and didn’t worrying about last night.
The walked through the woods of Albranca, it wasn’t been very dense as the Lynwirr-woods, but they still have to walk for a while to reach the city.
The ladies came upon a hill which they had to climb. It was steep but after that they reached the end of the forest.
They stood at the top of the hill and looked over the area, their eyes grew wide of shock.
‘Saris! Look at the castle, and the city!’ With a hand covering her mouth Arissa looked full of disbelieve to Albranca.
It was terrifying to see, the whole castle was covered under a thick layer of blue slime, it was dripping all over the rest of the city and the streets and the walls are covered as well.
‘Look, there is a camp. The citizens had to be reside there for sue.’ Sarisa said while pointing at a large group of tents that were placed in a far distance away from the city. ‘I won’t have my beauty rest here.’
‘More not a good night rest.’ Arissa shakes her head. ‘Let’s go, we have to go to the camp as soon as possible.’
They went down the hill and entered the camp. Between the tents they looked at the people that had to live there.
Even though the people seem to get on with their daily lives, they looked miserable.
A big magnificent looking tent, with a wooden fence build around it, stood at the back of the camp. It looked way nicer than the other tents that were build in this camp, and it even got protected by armed guards.
‘This had to be the tent of the King.’ Sarisa whispered in her sisters ears.
‘I am pretty sure of it. Let’s get to it.’ Arissa decided.
They went to the big tent and noticed that two guards are standing in front of the entrance. One of them halted the two girls.
‘Stop! You are not allowed to enter this tent.’ He spoke to them. ‘This is the King’s tent. Who are you and what are you doing here?’
‘We are the Mageline Sisters, and we have been send by the King of Milerba.’ Arissa explained calm. ‘We have been send to help you guys out with the slime problem.’
‘The...Mageline Sisters? Thank goodness, we are saved.’ The guard seemed delighted. ‘You can access the tent, my colleague will go lead you to the King.’
The other guard went inside with the sisters following him.
It was a large tent from the inside, where the King resides. Bigger than the ladies expected, it was almost a house! A bunch of spaces has been designed, which made it look like they were made up rooms.
The guard pulled a canvas up which covered an entrance of one of these spaces, it might be that the King resides here.
‘Please wait, I will let the King know that you have arrived.’ The soldier went inside and the ladies waited for a while. Just a few minutes later the guard came back outside.
‘The King is expecting to see you. He really is.’ He added quickly.
Arissa went first and Saris followed her. They entered indeed the throne room, or it suppose to look like one.
There wasn’t a lot of space in this “room” since the possessions of the King took a lot of it. They also seem to be damaged or being partly covered in slime.
The King was sitting on a wooden, improvised throne, apparently the real golden throne couldn’t get be saved in time. Everything looked poor, but also secretly a bit hilarious.
Arissa did her best to not burst out of laughter, and kept her face serious. She and Sarisa kneel down for the King.
‘Ah, The Mageline Sisters. Finally I have the honor to meet you.’ The King spoke to them.
‘Your Majesty, you have requested our presence. From a distance, we saw how terrible the situation really is.’ Arissa said.
‘It is hopeless, we tried to stop it, but they kept on coming.’ The King seems to lost a bit of his courtesy and sat pessimistic on his throne, he looked old and fragile right now.
‘Your Majesty, my sister and I had interrogated two bandits last night. They were responsible for the occupation of the city. We heard from them that the Slime King has been ordered by a well known person of yours, “The Bleak”.’
Arissa talked about what happened last night, The King listened to her story and his face turns more and more frowned.
‘That dirty traitor! I was expecting something like this will happen soon.’ He softly muttered. ‘So it wasn’t just a attack from the Slime King, but from The Bleak.’
‘That is right, Sire. My sister lured the bandits into her trap and I got some information out of them, as well about The Slime King. I have thought about a solution, Sire, but I want to ask you to give us something for that.’
‘You are allowed to received anything you needed for this.’ The King answered content. ‘My men are ready to help you and you are allowed to use any weapon you want.’
‘Well...all I need for this is a golden coin, and a white flag.’ Arissa said. Sarisa looked confused at her sister and even the King didn’t understand her request.
‘But...is this all you wanted? Are you sure you want to go with only just you two?’
‘I still think this is the best solution for this problem.’ Arissa said decided. ‘You will find out in a minute what I meant.’
‘Why didn’t you ask for reinforcements to drive out these filthy beasts?!’ Sarisa asked angrily. They were on their way to the city. Arissa received a big golden coin with a image of the King’s head, and a big white flag, exactly what she needed.
‘We are gonna drive them out, but not with brute force.’ She answered calm. ‘We going to lure them out with a agreement, because I felt like Albranca and the slime folk had been played out against each other. By the way, the King will send us help if something goes wrong.’
‘You are insane! This is suicide!’ Sarisa stepped angrily behind her, but her sister was walking totally relaxed towards the gate.
‘Have your weapon ready, when we need it. We are going inside.’ Arissa took a few steps under the gate and entered the city.
They didn’t got past the gate yet, or two slime monsters blocked the entrance. Giant moving blobs with amorphous looking faces looking hungry at the two ladies.
‘We are here to speak with the king!’ Arissa said loudly. ‘We are here in the name of Albranca, to negotiate.’
‘Bwahahahaaa...Negossiating? That’sss a funny joke!’ The slimes began to laugh. ‘You girlllsss are a delisssiousss meal for usss, after we didn’t eat human meats for weaksss.’
‘Let us through, then we will let you live for sure.’ Arissa lower down her flag. This would be harder than expected.
‘Neverrr...thisss city is now oursss. You can’t take it away frommm usss.’ The monsters came closer, Arissa could smell the horrendous smell of them.
‘Sis, are we going to beat them up?’ Sarisa grabbed her whip.
‘We have no choice, sadly enough.’ Arissa grabber her sword and swung at the slimes. She sliced one into pieces and Sarisa’s whip slash had surprisingly a lot of effect.
‘That went easier than I thought.’ She said proudly after the monsters were laying down in pieces.
‘It’s not over yet. Let’s go, quick!’ Arissa ran into the city and her sister followed her. Just in time, because the slime pieces grew back together and turned into one big monster.
The ladies ran through the streets and were needed they made the way accessible from the slime monsters.
The cut and slashed the different looking slimes away from them, their clothes getting more dirty of the slime that drips upon them. They didn’t mind, the ladies had to reach the castle of the Slime King.
They ran towards the market, the stalls that normally made the plaza look fancy, where now ruined or destroyed. The ladies had many paths to take, that lead towards the castle.
‘Will this be the shortest route to the castle?’ Asked Arissa loud.
‘I hope so, because I want to get out of here!’ Sarisa tried to wipe the slime of her clothes, but some of it still stick or her.
They want to proceed, but from many directions, slimes are closing in on them. The girls had no choice but to fight their way out.
‘This way sis, let’s go!’ Arissa ran towards the northern direction of the city and slashed her way through the slimes. She reached the end of the market.
Sarisa wanted to go after her, but one of the monsters spit a ball of slime towards her legs. She tried to get away, but she can’t move her legs anymore. They were stuck into blue slime!
‘Arissa, help me!’ She yelled in panic. ‘I can’t move my legs!’
‘Sarissa, hold on! I come and safe you!’ Arissa turned around and ran back to her sister, but she got attacked from behind as well. Another blob of blue slime hit her legs and made them immovable.
The slime monsters that surrounded them came closer and looked hungry to finally consume some now human meat.
‘Are you happy now?! Now we are stuck here forever!’ Sarisa attempted wildly to get the slime of her, but failed.
‘Please, let us go. We had to speak with your king!’ Arissa felt how her hope faded away. Was it indeed a huge mistake from her to get in this slimy city?
‘What isss going on?’ A deep blubbering voice was heard not far away from the market.
The slimes seem to hesitate, but moved away quick enough when a giant blob of slime came slowly moved to the direction of the girls.
The ladies saw that it wears some big jewels on his head. It was to be...the Slime King!
‘What do we have heeeerrree? Two intrrrudersss How dare you miserable humans to enter my kingdom?!’
‘Sire, we are just came here to negotiate with you and the King of Albranca. We didn’t want to occur problems, really!’ Arissa said loudly.
‘Ssshe lies. Ssshe lies through herrr teeth!’ The servants of the Slime King called out.
‘Sssilence!’ The Slime King ordered them to shut it. ‘I want to talk with thessse humansss, why they are disturb our silence.
Well human, what did you bring here in my kingdom? I hope that the King of Albranca isss ready to give up hisss richdom.’
‘I am here to have a agreement with you and the King, you Majesty.’ Arissa spoke calm as possible. ‘We are ready to pay a bit of ransom, just to let the people get back into their homes. I even have a coin of the King in my bag, but please listen to us before you decide to do something terrifying to us or the innocent people.’
Arissa tried to find the coin with her slimy fingers, she had a hard time finding it when everything felt slippery and sticky.
Finally she hold on something round and flat, she didn’t hesitate for a moment and trowed it on the ground in front of the Slime King.
With a flubbery, shapeless hand grabbed the big blob the coin and looked at it for a moment.
‘Wait a minute. That’sss not a coin of Albranca!’ He said surprised. ‘That’sss a coin of Milerba! Where did you got it, human?’
‘You idiot! Just look inside your bag, before you picked a coin of our city!’ Sarisa yelled at her sister, while she desperately tried to get loose of the slimy grip.
‘Your cccity? But are you girlsss not from Albrrranca?’ The Slime King focused on Sarisa.
‘No...we are from Milerba...It lies many miles away from here.’ Sarisa shakily admit it.
‘But...why didn’t you told me that? Then we would try to help you for sure!’ The Slime King gestured to his servants. The slime around the girls bodies retreated and made the girls movable again.
‘Why do you release us? We did attacked some of your servants.’ Asked Arissa confused.
‘Because the friendsss of the Milerban King, are my friendsss as well. Many, many yearsss ago when I was a little ball, your king, when he was a prince sssaved me from a evil foe. After that, he promised me to never hurt me or any of my friends and family.
Until one day when one of the soldiers of Albranca took over my former cave, where my father, the former king and the other family members got killed! He forces usss out of the cave, for many, many yearsss. I couldn’t reach out to my friend, and I was sure that he had forgotten about me and our disaster.
Then, a few weeks ago, some well clothed young men visited us in our new cave and told us how we can get into Albranca, to finally avenge my family and restore our kingdom! Now I finally had a better home to live and better welfare.’
‘Sire, it wasn’t the King’s fault! The soldier that attacked your cave is the chief of the clan, were the two young guys were working for. The chief called, “The Bleak” is going to trick you, together with his henchman. He wants to declare a war between you and Albranca. We were send by the Milerban King to stop the war and bring back peace!’
Arissa told the story of last night, the Slime King listening careful.
‘Iss that true? We were tricked?!’
‘Sadly yes, your Majesty. I am sorry that I had to tell you this.’
There was a bit of hesitation of the slimes and the ladies, but all of the sudden the slimes move away and made a path to the exit.
‘Go now, my frrriendsss. Lead me to the King. I will talk with him for surrre.’
The girls couldn’t believe it, they are free! With restrained enthusiasm they got out of the city. The Slime King following them.
‘Aris, I am sorry that I was doubting you.’ Sarisa blushed out of embarrassment. It was turning night and the sisters standing in front of the big tent.
The Slime King was inside, he got a lot of attention when his giant slime body crawled into the camp. People kept staring scared or even fled away.
Arissa and Sarissa kept on waiting, they hoped that the King came back with good news.
She looked at her sister. ‘Oh, it’s fine. Something you say things in the heat of anger that you shouldn’t say normally.’
They waited long before someone was coming outside of the tent, Arissa got a frightening feeling that the King might be eaten.
Some movements were happening in the tent. The cover went away and to Arissa’s relief was the King stepping outside. The Slime King was standing behind the mighty, old man.
‘Dear citizens of our beautiful city.’ He spoke solemn. ‘You might have waited with full expectation what we had spoken in this tent. Well then, we can safely say that the city is been declared habitable again.’
The people in the camp started to cheer. Albranca was free! Arissa and Sarisa looked at each other and gave a hug. They did it!
The King raised his hand and gesture to silence the citizens.
‘But with all celebrating, comes some bad news as well.’ He continued. ‘We presumed that a nasty game has been played with both parties, started by the clan lead by The Bleak.
We decided to collaborate and declare war against the chief. My men will work together with the slime warriors, I believe if we combine forces that we have a good chance to defeat his clan.
If the peace has been returned in our city, we will take action as soon as possible.’
The cheering came back, but this time less enthusiastic than first. They knew that the situation is serious, but a upcoming war wasn’t something they expected.
But they get their homes back, their lives can turn normal again.
The citizens walked back to their tents, but this time to deconstruct the camp.
‘Mageline Sisters, please step forward.’ The King asked. The girls came closer.
‘I want to thank you very much for solving this problem. We sadly received another problem, but we can help our self from there. I will grant both of you a reward, because I have my city and my castle back, and soon the old cave of the Slime King will be restored as well.
You can help us to find The Bleak, which I can even raise your reward even more.’
‘Your Majesty, we appreciate your offer, but we have to get back to our homes.’ Arissa said. ‘We will make sure that some reinforcements will come to your way to help you. Maybe sometime our paths will cross in the future.’
‘You will have my permission.’ The King said content. ‘I will bring you the gold pieces and then you can send your report to Milerba.’
The King went back into his tent, the Slime King moved towards the girls.
‘I didn’t have my city, but I will get my cavvve back.’ He said. ‘My ssservantss are thankful.’
‘Your welcome, your Majesty. We will help you again, if you really need is.’ Arissa said hesitating. What does the Slime King want from her?
‘Take the gold, and trravel back. Goodbye, my friendsss.’
A slimy arms came towards the ladies, confused they looked at it.
‘Ai, I think I broke my nail!’ Sarisa brought her hand in front of her fave and looked at it with a false frighted look. Arissa knew that she just acted.
Shaking, she brought her hand to that from the Slime King and shakes it. It felt cold, and very slippery, when she brought it back she saw that some blue slime kept stuck.
‘Iiieee!’ She yelled shocked when she saw that sticky substance on her arms. Sarisa burst into laughter.
‘What isss it? Can a big girl like you not stand a sticky hand?’ The Slime King roared with laughter.
‘Yes I do, it is just...I mean...’ Her cheeks turned red of embarrassment.
It was already dark when the ladies left, they would highly like to sleep in Lynwirr again.
With a bag of gold in her hand walked Arissa next to her sister, they both seems very happy on their succeeded quest.
‘Let’s make sure that the gold gets back home safely.’ Arissa said when she climbed the hill.
‘I totally agree. When we got back, I will look for a something fancy.’ Sarisa thinks already what she wanted.
‘What I needed first is a warm bath and clean clothes, so I won’t have that blue stuff on me.’ Arissa and her sisters clothing were indeed dirty of all that slime they picked up during the fight.
At the top of the hill they looked one more time at the city, it was looking beautiful again, all the slime has been retreated.
Arisssa thought about the future encounter she will have one day. How will The Bleak look like if she met him? How tough will the rest of the gang be?
‘The Bleak, one day I will meet him.’ She spoke to herself.
The girls turned around and left Albranca behind.
